Pilates Matwork

Gentle Pilates:- A perfect 45 minute class for those keen to discover basic strengthening exercises and how to maintain a healthy spine. Enjoy a collection of specific exercises designed to strengthen, release tension and reduce posture related niggles. This class also includes basic Pilates exercises to engage the core, developing correct technique for an ongoing Pilates practice.

Pilates for Older Adults, Strength & Balance:- A class specifically designed for active Older Adults to maintain muscle mass and improve balance. Through a variety of seated, standing and floor exercises, using small equipment and the ballet barre, this class enables participants to develop strength and confidence with a focus on functional movement, posture awareness and falls prevention.

Mat Pilates:- With a focus on the foundations of traditional Pilates exercises, core strength, balance and stability, this class uses a variety of props to create a full body workout. Core-based movements, with attention to technique, are including to improve body awareness, posture, lessen aches and pains and prevent injury. Stretching and back strengthening are included. Modifications are always provided, along with varying levels of intensity.

Pilates Circuit:- This brand new class incorporates a variety of Pilates and Fitness equipment, including Pilates ball, Bosu ball, Pilates arc and weights. The circuit is time based as members rotate between stations of strength, mobility and HIIT exercises, concluding with stretching. This class is suitable for all fitness levels, providing the opportunity to progress through the series.  A fun way to improve overall fitness. 8 class block beginning Thursday 16 February 2024 with Alex Collins
